Our Community and Corporate Social Responsibility
“Locally responsible, globally rewarding”
We recognise the impact we can have on our community, and that investment in the community is vital to enabling society to grow.
From monthly dress-down days to charity collections at events, Myers Clark has raised over £2,000 for the Hertfordshire Community Fund and a number of local charities. In the last year, we have also been involved in a number of fundraising events such as the sending Shoeboxes to Our Heroes, completing the MoonWalk, Starlight Walk, and the Hospice of St Francis Mud Pack Challenge.
Peace Hospice Business Partnership
Myers Clark is delighted to announce we are now corporate partners of the Peace Hospice. The Peace Hospice has been a pivotal member of the Watford community and we are thrilled to be partnered with them. Myers Clark is also looking forward to participating in a number of fundraising events to ensure they can continue to provide the invaluable support and care to their patients and their families.”
Every year the hospice needs £5 million to run and develop their services. By working with the hospice, we are able to raise funds for those facing life-limiting illnesses. Joanna Milton, Corporate Fundraising Manager at the Peace Hospice, said; "The Peace Business Partnership was developed to make supporting the Hospice easy and rewarding for local businesses. I’m delighted that Myers Clark has committed to a regular donation and is now a Silver Partner. Regular income helps us to plan our patients’ care and that is vital to us and we are extremely grateful to the team at Myers Clark for their generosity.”
Dragon’s Apprentice is a community initiative which links local secondary schools with local businesses and charities or community groups.
The task is for each group of Year 12 students to turn £100 into £1000, to then donate to their allocated charity. The teams set up and run their own businesses with guidance from their business mentor (their dragon) and a local charity. Over the months, the teams face a number of challenges from deciding initial ideas to setting budgets; and this is where the connection to a local business comes in!
