Job title Assistant tax secretary

Job description Working as part of a friendly and professional team in the tax department at Myers Clark, the successful candidate will provide a broad range of admin tasks including filing, photocopying, scanning documents, dealing with incoming/outgoing post and other tasks to assist the tax team.  Regular communication with the Inland Revenue will be in writing and over the phone.  The successful candidate will type correspondence dictated by members of the team and deal with internal procedures and forms to help with the smooth running of the tax department.

Required skills Previous accountancy firm experience would be an advantage but is not essential. The successful candidate will have a good working knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel.  Training will be provided on software to file tax returns online and some form filling will be required relating to submissions to the Inland Revenue. 

Other qualifications:  The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, good organisational skills (some diary work is required), and to be flexible, detailed and analytical.

Educational requirements: Ideally 5 GCSEs including English and Maths, but relevant experience is more important.

Job title:  Trainee tax advisor

Job description:  Working as part of a friendly and professional team in the tax department at Myers Clark, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to become ATT/CTA qualified and gain the relevant work experience whilst doing so.  The role will cover accounts preparation and tax.

Required skills:  The successful candidate will demonstrate they have a strong desire for a career within accountancy and to specialise in personal tax.

Other qualifications:  The successful candidate will need excellent communication skills, the ability to work in a team environment, good organisational skills, and to be flexible, detailed and analytical.

Educational requirements:  Ideally graduate level with a minimum of 5 good GCSEs.
