Here are the top three options we recommend:

QuickBooks Online

This is the option we work with most. The sleek design and dashboard is easy to use and instantly shows you how your business is doing. The software works in real-time and automatically updates bank accounts, increasing efficiency and ease. QuickBooks Online integrates with OCR software to automate the processes and integrates with most Apps on the market. UK telephone helpline is a bonus.

Xero

This has similar functionality to QuickBooks Online but has automatic App integrations with most Apps on the market. Xero is based around the principle that small businesses are sensitive to small changes in their balance sheet and cash flow. Like the other software, Xero has a main dashboard which provides an overview of financial performance, expenses, and profit.

Sage Business Cloud

This provides simple online services for growing or established small businesses. The software facilitates the management of cash flow, quotes, income, expenses and VAT, as well as more powerful features that let businesses trade internationally, control stock. Not as yet developed like QuickBooks and Xero, and it does not integrate automatically with many Apps.

FAQs

As Quickbooks is the software we use most and therefore we mention it in a lot of the answers below but they do also apply to Xero users.

Q. Is it easy to use?

A. Quickbooks is a very intuitive product. Whilst you need some accounting knowledge you don’t have to be a bookkeeper or accountant to navigate it. If you have used other accounting systems you will grasp it quickly.

Q. Is it expensive?

A. Cloud software is much cheaper than traditional desktop providers. As platinum members with QuickBooks we are able to provide some products cheaper than the market price. We can provide a specific quote once we know what you need.

Q. Will I have my historical data

A. Generally only two years worth of data will come over from any desktop system to the cloud system. If you need more it can be arranged but it will be time consuming and expensive.

Q. Do you provide training?

A. If you’re new to using an accounting package, we recommend you get some training. We provide a bespoke training session with one of our trainers on your data.

QuickBooks also have lots of YouTube videos that you can use as a tool.

Everyone at Myers Clark is QuickBooks trained so your assigned client manager will be able to help you too.

Q. How long will it take to move to a cloud software?

A. To transfer your data takes about two weeks from start to finish.

Q. What if I need more support?

A. We offer continued training and support packages for 3 or 6 months and you can extend it after if you need to.
